What exactly is ALSA UK?

ALSA UK was first created during the first COVID-19 lockdown. Arisa, Arijeta and Erona wanted to create a space where the Albanian Youth could get together to do some good work and give back to the community. Over time we became a group of willing volunteers supporting others with their education and career. In a nutshell we do this by sharing information we wish we had known when we were younger, and by facilitating networking opportunities.

At ALSA UK we recognise that its so difficult to navigate the educational system and professional networks in a country that our parents didn’t grow up in! So, we use our experiences to help others facing the same challenges we once did.

Over the years our work has reached many Albanians but also many members from other ethnic backgrounds, which is now we are simply known as ALSA UK, and we emphasise that even though most of our volunteers are Albanian and we receive a lot of support from the Albanian community, anyone can benefit from our services. We feel that this shows the kind and giving nature of the Albanian people and also opens us up to more connections and opportunities.

How do I describe ALSA UK to others?

ALSA UK is a youth-led charity focused on empowering young people, particularly migrants, by providing networking, training, and skill-building opportunities. Through technology and community support, ALSA helps individuals overcome barriers, develop confidence, and prepare for the future, ensuring they become active, resilient members of society.
